Bandai Namco Entertainment has released the first part of the second installment (below) in its behind-the-scenes developer diary series for Supermassive Games’ upcoming horror anthology title The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan.

The first developer diary centers around the design of the game’s ghost ship location, and features commentary by Production Designer Lee Robinson, Audio Director Barney Pratt, and Art Director Robert Craig.

The three minute “A Watery Grave” video starts out with art director Robert Craig & animation director Jamie Galipeau talking about the challenges in making the environment and characters constantly react to the ocean’s constant movement. They also touch on realistic underwater lighting before audio designer Hywel Payne goes on to explain the process of capturing all sorts of nautical sounds:

The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan stars Shawn Ashmore & Pip Torrens, who lend not only their voices, but also their likenesses to the title. The game is expected to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime this Summer.
A series of standalone cinematic horror games linked by one common element: that every playable character can live and every playable character can die throughout the story, yielding numerous possible endings and near-limitless replayability.
