Metro Exodus Gets PC System Requirements & Epic Store Release

Video game publisher Deep Silver & development studio 4A Games have revealed the system requirements & release details for the PC version of their upcoming post-apocalyptic first-person shooter title Metro Exodus. The game’s system requirements are broken down into four brackets (minimum, recommended, high, and extreme) rather than the typical minimum & recommended – 4A also provided general guidelines for in-game graphics settings and average performance:

According to the chart, players trying to hit the minimum spec with older mid-range graphics cards and a mid-range enthusiast-class processor will be stuck at 30 frames per second on 1080p at low settings – not good. On the other hand, players with similar, but slightly more modern systems can get by pretty well at high settings with a smooth 60 frames per second. However, if you want to run Metro Exodus at higher resolutions and settings, you’re going to need a pretty modern high-end gaming desktop.

For those lucky few, the game will support real-time ray-tracing on Nvidia’s GeForce RTX line of graphics cards, and the 4A promised to release some performance guidelines with ray-tracing enabled in the coming days, so stay tuned for that.

Moving on the next bit of news, the PC version of Metro Exodus will be released exclusively through the Epic Games Store, though customers who already preordered the game through Steam will still receive the game on that platform upon the game’s release, and as we reported a few weeks ago, all digital PC preorders will still include the game’s soundtrack & “The World of Metro” digital art book.

Epic founder & CEO Tim Sweeney stated: “Metro Exodus is amazing and is deservedly one of the most anticipated PC titles of 2019. We are partnering with Deep Silver to launch Metro Exodus, underpinned by Epic’s marketing support and commitment to offering an 88% revenue split, enabling game creators to further reinvest in building great games and improving the economics of game stores for everybody.”

Deep Silver CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz added: “We are delighted to partner with Epic to bring the digital PC version of Metro Exodus to market. Epic’s generous revenue terms are a game changer that will allow publishers to invest more into content creation, or pass on savings to the players. By teaming up with Epic we will be able to invest more into the future of Metro and our ongoing partnership with series developer 4A Games, to the benefit of our Metro fans.”

Deep Silver will also re-release the remastered versions of the previous two games in the Metro series, Metro 2033 Redux & Metro: Last Light Redux, on the Epic Games Store sometime later in the year.

Starting today, all Metro Exodus preorders have been removed from other digital retailers is now available to preorder exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
