Capcom has announced that it will be releasing a special “1-shot” demo of its upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake on Friday. Players who download the demo will have just thirty minutes to complete Leon S. Kennedy’s mission objectives in the Raccoon City Police Station. Players who complete the demo early or are killed before the time runs out keep playing until the thirty minutes expires. Once the demo is complete, an exclusive cinematic trailer for the game will become accessible.
The Resident Evil 2 (2019) “1-shot” demo will be available to download starting Friday, January 11th and ending on Thursday, January 31st.
The game is a remake of 1998’s Resident Evil 2 using the cutting-edge RE Engine which debuted in last year’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, featuring a custom over-the-shoulder perspective rather than the 2017 game’s first-person mode or the series’ traditional third-person perspective.
While Resident Evil 2 (2019) won’t be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One until Friday, January 25th, it’s now available on preorder for $59.99:
A fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game. The classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series returns. Players join rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that transformed its population into deadly zombies. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives.
