Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for its upcoming creature feature Crawl, produced by horror legend Sam Raimi. The over two-minute long trailer sets up the plot with a category 5 hurricane hitting Florida. A young woman attempts to rescue her father, but ends up stuck in the basement of a flooded house with a giant alligator.
The film is directed by Alexandre Aja, written by Michael & Shawn Rasmussen, and stars Kaya Scodelario, Barry Pepper, Ross Anderson, Anson Boon, George Somner, Ami Metcalf, Jose Palma, Morfydd Clark, Annamaria Serda, Savannah Steyn, Jovana Dragas, Colin McFarlane, and Tina Pribicevic.
Crawl will be released to theaters nationwide on Friday, July 12th.
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.
