Jason Blum has confirmed, via Twitter, that the master of horror himself, John Carpenter, is doing the musical score for Blumhouse’s upcoming reboot/sequel to Carpenter’s Halloween franchise. Carpenter composed the music for his original 1978 film as well, including the iconic theme song. Twitter user @RyanTheSwifty asked Blum to confirm or deny if Carpenter was handling the score, and Blum replied affirmatively:

Halloween (2018) is directed by David Gordon Green, written by Green & Danny McBride (based on characters by John Carpenter & Debra Hill), and stars Judy Greer, Miles Robbin, Jamie Lee Curtis as “Laurie Strode”, and Nick Castle as “Michael Myers”. Halloween is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on Friday, October 19th.
