AMC Networks has announced that its horror streaming service Shudder has acquired the rights to the hit Japanese zombie comedy One Cut of the Dead. The smash indie hit from writer/director Shinichiro Ueda was filmed in 2017 for just $27,000 but has already earned almost $30 million.
Shudder’s Emily Gotto stated: “One Cut of the Dead is pure joy, especially in its final act as all the pieces click into place and the film soars. It’s exactly the kind of film Shudder members love to discover.”
One Cut of the Dead stars Takayuki Hamatsu, Yuzuki Akiyama, Harumi Shuhama, Kazuaki Nagaya, Hiroshi Ichihara, and Mao. Check out the film’s English-subtitled trailer:
One Cut of the Dead premieres later this year exclusively on Shudder.
