The Movie Crypt podcast’s third annual 48-hour live marathon begins tonight! Hosts Adam Green, Joe Lynch, and Green’s pet Yorkshire terrier Arwen will be joined by surprise special guests throughout the weekend for live comedy, music, effects demonstrations, and general horror talk. The gang will also be providing live commentary on a handful of classic movies including Stephen King’s Cujo, 1994 Jim Carrey comedy The Mask, the first Scary Movie film from 2000, the original Star Wars trilogy, and the latest installment in Green’s Hatchet franchise, Victor Crowley.
A pre-show special featuring “DJ Green” & “MC Licks A Lot” begins this evening at 6:00pm Eastern. The 48-hour podcast marathon kicks off at 8:00pm Eastern and ends at 8:00pm eastern on Sunday, December 16th. And you can watch it all right here:
The event will benefit the Save A Yorkie Rescue of Milton, PA, via a GoFundMe page and online auction featuring a ton of items that may hold clues as to who the surprise special guests are. While some of the auction lineup is easily attributed to the show or its hosts individually, there’s also a ton items that have no immediate relation to either, including promotions for retro ABC sitcom The Goldbergs, a “Baby Dren” plush doll from 2009’s Splice, a guest appearance on Doug Benson’s show, Sam Raimi autographs, items from Wet Hot American Summer, and swag from metal bands The Black Dahlia Murder, GoatWhore, GWAR, and Haddonfield.
Also among the auction items are copies of event’s official poster illustrated by artists Stephen Sharar & Joshua Werner who worked on the Holliston graphic novel:
