AMC Networks has announced that actor Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story) and actress Ashleigh Cummings have been cast in the lead roles of network’s upcoming live-action horror series NOS4A2 – we first reported that the network acquired the rights to the show, based on the novel of the same name by author Joe Hill, back in April.
Quinto will portray the character of “Charlie Manx”, while Cummings has been chosen to play “Vic McQueen”:
A seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.
A young, working-class artist whose creativity awakens a supernatural ability to track Manx. What Vic lacks in social confidence, she makes up for in courage, humor, and tough-as-nails grit. She strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.
Along with Quntio & Cummings, NOS4A2 stars Olafur Darri Olafsson as “Bing Partridge”, Virginia Kull as “Linda McQueen”, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as “Chris McQueen”, and Jahkara Smith (AKA Sailor J) as “Maggie Leigh”.
Showrunner & executive producer Jami O’Brien said: “As a huge fan of Joe Hill’s rich, imaginative, and exciting book, I am over the moon to be working with such a phenomenal cast and creative team on this special project.”
The network also announced that Kari Skogland has been tapped to direct the first two (of ten) hourlong episodes, and that the series will be shot on-location in the state of Rhode Island.
NOS4A2 will premiere sometime next year on AMC – stay tuned!
