Dynamite Entertainment has teamed up with Archie Comics to release the debut issue of comic crossover femme fatale foursome Red Sonja & Vampirella Meet Betty & Veronica. The 32-page full-color comic is written by Amy Chu & illustrated by Maria Sanapo, featuring cover art by Fay Dalton, and variant covers by Francesco Francavilla, Robert Hack, Paulina Ganucheau, Laura Braga, Dan Parent, Cat Staggs, Ken Haeser, Mike Choi, Lucio Parrillo, Warren Louw, Jay Ferguson, and Shannon Maer, plus a blank Authentix cover.
Chu said: “Archie was one of the few comics my Mom would buy for us now and then. We didn’t have a lot of money growing up so my mom wasn’t about to blow it all on comics. Whereas I’ve done quite a bit of Red Sonja to date, this is my first Archie book, and also Vampirella. Of course there’s the challenge of pulling it off, not every kind of story is suited for this kind of team up. What would bring these four women together? A mysterious spree of supernatural killings in Riverdale High, of course!”
Archie Comics Co-President Alex Segura stated: “We’ve wanted to play in the sandbox with the Dynamite gang for some time, and I’m really happy the stars aligned on this one. Amy Chu’s story is a fun, energized romp that brings together our iconic duo of Betty and Veronica with Vampi and Red Sonja. Four badass ladies join forces for a crossover you won’t forget. What more could you want?”
Dynamite Entertainment CEO & Publisher Nick Barrucci added: “Like so many comic book fans, Archie was a constant favorite as a youngster. I’ve been so impressed with how they’ve taken the publishing to a new level in recent years with diverse stories like the Archie Horror line and the New Riverdale relaunch. And like so many others, I’m glued to my TV watching Riverdale now. I just knew we had to do this crossover for the fans!”
Red Sonja & Vampirella Meet Betty & Veronica issue #1 is now available in both print & digital for just $3.99:
