1Kotobukiya Lucy Series Bishoujo Statue
“Lucy” from Ghostbusters is part of Kotobukiya’s series of 1/7 scale Bishoujo statues. Now discontinued, the collectible was originally released in April 2012.
The Ghostbusters, New York’s very own paranormal investigators, are back in the headlines and this time around they have a new recruit, Lucy. This Ghostbuster-in-training is determined not to let any spook, specter or ghost get past her and she has the equipment to back her up. Outfitted in Egon Spengler’s proprietary Proton Pack and Ecto Goggles, she is truly a slime-eradicating force to be reckoned with. Standing triumphantly over a ghost trap after bagging her latest catch, Lucy lets loose a smile of satisfaction over another job well done. She rests the wand of her proton pack on her left shoulder while her other hand sits calmly at her exposed hip. Her uniform has definitely seen better days as her pants are torn and tattered from this recent spectral encounter. The standard issue Proton Pack has thankfully remained unscathed exhibiting incredibly sculpted details such as the power cell, crank generator and Cyclotron. Ghostbuster Lucy is the latest entry to the Japanese Bishoujo (pretty girl) collection based on an original character design by master illustrator, Shunya Yamashita. Sculpted by Masahiro “Gill Gill” Takahashi, she stands nearly 9 ½ inches tall (in 1/7th scale) atop a specially designed base uniquely accented with a manhole cover donning the Ghostbuster logo. When supernatural activity is afoot, this is the gal you want to call.
2Kotobukiya Edward Scissorhands Bishouju Statue
“Edward Scissorhands” from Edward Scissorhands is part of Kotobukiya’s Edward Scissorhands series of 1/7 scale Bishouju statues. Now discontinued, the collectible was originally released in November 2016.
Kotobukiya’s elite Bishoujo Statue line has brought you beautiful characters from all manner of anime series, DC and Marvel comics, Star Wars, video games, and much more. Recently the series took a totally unique turn, transforming two horror movie icons into pretty girls with Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. Now a third gender-bending film star joins the party with a stunning new Bishoujo interpretation of Edward Scissorhands! Tim Burton’s classic 1990 dark fantasy introduced the world to Edward (played magnificently by Johnny Depp), a gentle automaton with unfinished scissor hands created by a mad scientist. Now that character’s iconic appendages, color scheme, and style have been interpreted by Kotobukiya based on an original illustration by Shunya Yamashita that brings Edward to life as never before. The beautiful female version stands with all the awkwardness of the film character, her feet apart and knees spread, head cocked to one side, and scissor hands held up in front of her. “Edward” wears a fantastically detailed black gothic-style outfit with tall boots, stockings, a short dress with shredded skirt, long gloves, and a choker at her neck. The darkness of her clothing is offset by striking gold buckles and studs, and of course the silver blades of her scissors. Meanwhile, under her tousled black hair this unique creature silently ponders the world with a cute expression on her Bishoujo-styled face. Edward Scissorhands stands 9 inches tall (1/7 scale) on a special themed display base.
